The tournament sees the participation of 64 clubs representing different African countries, and it is held in several stages, as follows:

  1. Preliminary Qualifying Rounds:Lower-ranked teams play knockout matches to determine who advances to the next round.
  2. Round of 32:Higher-ranked and top-seeded teams join at this stage. Home-and-away matches decide the 16 teams advancing to the group stage.
  3. Group Stage:Composed of 4 groupsteams each with 4The top two teams from each group move on to the quarter-finals.
  4. Knockout Rounds:Includes Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and the Final. All rounds are played over two legs (home and away), except the final, which may be a single match, depending on CAF’s decision.
